EPS / Styropor®
EPS – better known under the trade name «Styropor» – is often used as packaging material. The problem: Styropor mainly consists of air, thus causing a considerable logistic problem. As more air than material is transported, high transport costs accrue and expensive storage space is wasted.
Our solution: The Strautmann briquetting press StyroPress® helps to compact EPS moulded parts into briquets. The volume is reduced by 97%. That means that a truck can be charged with approx. 800 kg of loose EPS – but with up to 24 t of briquets. Thus, enormous logistics costs are saved and very high proceeds are achieved from the sale of this recyclable.
